Kumofuton plays sounds to help create a restful environment. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, or prevent insomnia or any other condition.

If you keep having trouble sleeping or are worried about your health, please talk to a doctor or another qualified professional.

Volume

Listening at high volume for a long time can damage your hearing. Please keep the volume low, especially with earphones or headphones.

When using the app near babies or young children, keep the volume low and place the device away from their ears.

When playback stops

Playback or the timer may stop because of power-saving features, calls, alarms, other apps, or the operating system.

The wake-up alarm may not ring if the device is off or out of battery, or if notifications are not allowed. On iOS versions before 26 it rings as a notification and does not sound in Silent mode. For anything important, set a second alarm as a backup.

About the recordings

The recordings are processed from sounds that third parties shared on Freesound under CC0 (public domain). Recording places and dates are shown as the recordists described them, and we cannot guarantee that they are accurate.

Some recordings include sounds that suddenly get louder, such as thunder or birds.

Some sounds are not recordings: the kitchen fan, air conditioner, washing machine, and hair dryer were generated with Adobe Firefly, and the noises and the womb sound were generated by Kumofuton. The womb sound is an impression, not a recording made inside a womb.

Limitation of liability

Kumofuton is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damage arising from using or being unable to use the app, except where caused by our intent or gross negligence.

If this disclaimer changes, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date.
